The James McKinnis Collection
Jim McKinnis is one of America's foremost creators of "photo paintings". His technique, which all starts with his excellent photographs, combines realism with vibrant colors. When I wanted a captivating cover for the baseball book I was writing, I went to Jim for just the perfect photo painting of Wrigley Field. His work is wonderful. Note that when he creates an original work, he actually paints over a black-and-white photo (or series of photos) he has taken -- meaning that he can paint more than one similar image . . . but all of them are truly "original," since he in fact has painted each one by hand. Also, Jim has produced more wonderful artwork than we have room for here, so if you're wondering if there's a photo painting of a particular player available, send an e-mail to info@grandslammall.com and we'll let you know.
